In a not so surprising statement, Amazon.in has claimed to be the largest Indian online marketplace for the calendar year 2015. It was also listed as the most visited e-commerce site for 2015 by comScore. It also stated that 70% of the company’s traffic came from smartphone users.
Amazon.in adds in around 55,000 new products to its inventory everyday keeping in mind the requirements of the users, rather than what is available with them. A spokesman from the company thanked the immense support they received from the customers and sellers all alike and their contribution in making the company the largest Indian online market of the year. He also told that the company had over 250% rise in the seller base, which meant more and more sellers are trusting the platform for their trade needs.
Amazon has increased its fulfilment centres in India by three times. The company has also come out with a number of programs to lure in the sellers and customers to its platform. Amazon has continued to invest in numerous innovative ventures like Kirana Now, Project Now and Amazonbusiness.in. All these programs have done considerably well towards expanding the reach of the company throughout the country and world even though being in their starting phases at this moment.
