Ringing Bells booked for cheating charges in terms of its smartphone Freedom 251

An FIR has been lodged against the manufacturer of the so called cheapest smartphone of the world, Freedom 251, Ringing Bells Pvt. Ltd. for misleading and cheating its customers by fraudulent ways. The company has been accused of misguiding its customers by various digital means including social media where they have promised to offer smartphones at a paltry amount of INR 251. The main concern was that the company raised funds with online ads by the help of promising cheap smartphones to the public.

Noida Police has filed a complaint against Ringing Bells’ senior officials for all the wrong reasons possible. On a complaint filed by Kirit Somaiya, an FIR has been registered against the company under section 420 of the Indian Penal Code. The accusations range from misguiding the customers to buy smartphones priced at Rs. 251 to dishonouring the national flag by using it in the advertisements and the dummy phones. The Police has asked the company officials to show the productions units where the smartphone pieces are being manufactured or would be manufactured. Till date, there has been no more update from the legal authorities, but the company spokesmen have come up with a number of answers. Mohit Goel, the Director of Ringing Bells Pvt. Ltd. Stated that the officials and the company will cooperate with any government agency and official that plan to look into the matter so as to clear any suspicion. He also made it clear that Ringing Bells is committed towards providing quality products that include the much talked about Freedom 251 and that the speculations would be put to rest soon as they deliver their promises and products.

For the time being, the smartphone manufacturing company seems to be in trouble and we may have a clear idea very soon given the police is probing the matter.
