As per reports, Samsung is planning to push out an early update of Android N for its devices. The update would be available for the Galaxy devices. Google had earlier surprised its developers with the early release of Android N and Samsung seems to follow suit.
The smartphones getting the early Android N update would include Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge, Samsung confirmed. The update is scheduled to release in or around the months of June-July, 2016. The first Samsung phone to be shipped with pre-installed Android N would be the Samsung Galaxy Note S6. The Marshmallow update would be first available to the Users of Galaxy S6, S6 Edge and S6 Edge+ back in South Korea, then the rest of the world will get to use it.
The Android N update is supposed to bring performance optimizations, enhancement in accessibility options and modifications to Android for Work apps. Android N Developer preview is already available on a few smartphones that include Nexus Player, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus 6, Nexus 9, Pixel C and General Mobile 4G. In order to download the preview versions as ‘Over The Air’ (OTA) updates, Android users need to enrol for the Android Beta Program.
