Sony Xperia Z2 was introduced keeping in mind the good name created by its predecessor Xperia Z1. It is a perfect blended machine with its stunning display, good camera, and water proof body.
Under the case it is powered by a 2.3 GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset along with a 3GB of RAM. It has got a 16GB of inbuilt memory and an expandable memory card slot up to 128GB. For better gaming performance Sony has also put in an Adreno 330 graphics chip.
The highlight of the Z2 is its new and improved screen which is a major facelift from Z1. It has got a 5.2 inch Triluminos IPS LCD display giving a pixel density of 424 ppi and Sony's X reality engine. They have reduced the bezel size making it more beautiful and easy to handle. Z2 runs on Android OS 4.4.2 Kitkat with a custom UI.
The camera in the Sony's Z series have always astonished the customers. Z2 also does the same with its rear 20.7 MP shooter and 2.2 MP front cam. With the blistering 20.7 MP auto focus camera with Exmor RS sensor and a 4K video capture provision it offers one of the best quality images and videos a mobile cam can shoot. The front camera which is a 2.2 MP shooter supports 1080p video recording. The one thing we felt a drawback is the LED flash. Unlike the dual-tone LED flash in LG G3, Sony still uses the same single LED flash as seen in the Z1.
It is an IP 58 certified dust and water resistant phone. Another new addition in the Z2 is the stereo speakers which gives an immersive sound experience while watching videos or listening to music. Wireless charging is also possible but only with an optional back cover.
The extra connectivity features employed are HDMI, DLNA, NFC and TV out. Z2 is given life by a 3200 mAh Li-Ion battery which is non-user-replaceable. The new battery has really helped in improving the stamina of the phone. To conclude, Z2 is worth a buy with all the new improvements in the screen and with its stunning camera performance.
