Samsung never ceases to surprise and amaze its customers with the hind of technological advancements it brings out with the release of every smartphone or other consumer electronic item. This time, the innovation is on a much larger scale as the company plans to launch a foldable smartphone, the first of its kind.
As per reports, an unnamed company professional from Samsung confirmed the news that Samsung is actually planning to start the production of such foldable smartphones by the end of this year and to make them available to the end users by 2017. Samsung, along with Samsung Display, its display manufacturing arm, has partnered with various other manufacturers to implement the idea of a foldable smartphone into actuality. Rumor has it the smartphone will be a 7-inch device that can be folded in half to make it a 5-inch phone. It will reportedly have OLED display.
Samsung has long been trying to come up with a technology such as this and its advancements in terms of curved OLED TVs, Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S7 Edge smartphones indicate that the company is up to something; something quite innovative and enjoyable. There are not much words on the fact that the anticipated phone would be the next flagship, the Samsung Galaxy S8, but if the execution is done right, it would be a revolutionary change. For the time being, we cannot exactly say if the product will be out in the market soon, but there are huge chances it is turning out to be a pleasant reality that that we would witness it sooner or later.
