Yu Yureka vs Lenovo A6000: Design, Build and Display

Yureka is having a 5.5 inch IPS display with HD 720p resolution. Both Lenovo A6000 and Honor Holly have the same display resolution. But while comparing with A6000 and Honor Holly, Yu is having a blue tint, which intimidatingly results in whites looking blue and colors not looking very accurate. Most people buy this phone only by seeing the features, but we hope micromax introduced Yu to maintain their position when small small companies are conquering the market. Under Sun light it's found that colors appeared slightly different as the viewing angle is changed. The display has Gorilla Glass 3 to protect against scratches and an oleophobic coating to prevent smudging.

Touch response is comparatively good but Micromax could have used a better display panel.

This phone has a removable back panel that has rounded edges and soft matte finish. The power key is placed at the right edge while the volume keys at the left side. For a phone priced at Rs 8,999 the YU is decently built device.

Lenovo A6000 has a soft touch matte rear finish back cover gently curved towards the side edges, which are also plastic. It is only 128gms in weight. The phone feels just right when held in hands.

Both the MicroUSB port and Audio Jack are present on the top edge. On the rear side there are two microphones for noise reduction. Dual digital dolby supported speakers are present on the back surface which is the real advantage of A6000. There is no LED light for notifications.

The 5 Inch display has good viewing angles and reasonably sharp 720p HD resolution. Lenovo hasn't mentioned any protective layer on top. The capacitive keys below the display are not backlit. At this price point, we are quite happy with the display.

Yu Yureka vs Lenovo A6000: Processor, Software and RAM

YU Yureka is one of the cheapest devices to offer 4G connectivity. The phone is powered by 64 bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 Octa core chip with 1.5 GHz processor, Adreno 405 graphics and 2 GB DDR3 RAM.

64-bit architecture is not supported by Android 4.4, but Yureka will soon have an update to Lollipop but the phone still need more memory to fully accept 64-bit and 2GB would not be enough.

It is able to play videos of popular file formats without any hiccups and also there is not even a single lag between switching apps, using internet etc.

The chipset used in Lenovo A6000 is 64 bit Snapdragon 410, which is the 64 bit version of Snapdragon 400 SoC. It has quadcore processor clocked at 1.2 GHz and integrated CAT 4 LTE modem. Out of 1 GB RAM, 395 MB is available on first boot. The Snapdragon 410 will be challenged by MediaTek MT6732 in upcoming next gen MediaTek smartphones. The gaming performance of the device is also fairy good and it can play almost any game.

Eventhough Yu offers dual sim functionality but doesn't allow forward calls from one line to other. Sound from the speaker is decent but it's not great since the sound gets muffled when placed over a soft surface.

Yu Yureka runs Cyanogen OS (a customized version of Android KitKat developed by Cyanogen). Cyanogen has good performance, security and privacy features. Eventhough OnePlus One runs the same OS; the Yureka looks so different in its default theme which can be customized too.

The software offers a high level of customization which lets you tweak the lock screen, status bar and notification panels as per your likings. Like in LG G3, yureka also has the features like we can choose between on-screen navigation buttons and hardware navigation buttons, and programme hardware buttons to perform different actions. For example, we can make the home button the call answer key or make the volume rocker keys wake up the device.

CyanogenMOd also offers advanced privacy and security features including Privacy Guard through which you can prevent apps from accessing your personal data. There is whisperPush encrypeted SMS for secure messaging. Cyanogen also allows you to block and blacklist phone numbers.

Lenovo A6000 runs on Android 4.4.4 KitKat with the company's Vibe UI. The company has already promised that this device would get the Android 5.0 Lollipop update. The Vibe UI brings in lot of customized options and looks different from the core Android. The UI does not come with app drawer and has multiple home screens which can be customized. The notification center has almost all useful quick toggles but they are not customizable.

Unlike the MIUI or the Cyanogen OS which offer themes and customization options, Vibe UI offers only couple of themes and there is no option to download more themes. This phone comes with awesome Dolby support speakers, this should provide great experience. The phone has dual rear speakers and the output is also pretty good. The sound does not shatter even if you listen at full volume. It have Dolby app which have an equalizer , Dolby effect is awesome in headphones also.

Yu Yureka vs Lenovo A6000: Camera

Yu Yureka and Lenovo A6000; Camera

YU Yureka features a 13MP rear camera capable of 1080p video capture with Sony EXMOR CMOS sensor and a 5MP front camera with 71 degree field of view. Currently yureka can shoot slow-motion videos at 60 frames per second and in future by software updation it will be possible upto 120 frames per second. CynogenMOD camera app offers several controls like size, quality, shutter speed, focus duration etc.

The quality of images captured in daylight is satisfactory than in lowlight. There is not much change in the picture quality at 100% zooming like in other micromax phones.

The front camera captures good quality selfies and the Beauty mode really enhances them. Its beautiful for voice chats.

Lenovo A6000 has a rear 8MP camera and is a decent performer. The rear camera can record 720p HD videos at 30fps, while the 2 MP fixed focus front camera can also record 720p HD videos at 15fps. Blue tint in YU Yureka is not found in Lenovo A6000 i.e. white color for white and is not faded in clarity.

Yu Yureka vs Lenovo A6000: Storage

Yu Yureka has got a pretty decent 16 GB of internal storage and also the storage can be expanded to 32 GB using a microSD card. Internal storage of Lenovo A6000 is 8 GB out of which around 4 GB is available at user end. There is no separate partition for apps. Apps can be transferred to and installed on microSD storage as well. External storage can be expanded upto 32GB. This is again very good in this price range.

Yu Yureka vs Lenovo A6000: Battery Life

Coming to battery life, Yu Yureka has got a decent 2500 mAh battery which is specially optimized to extend battery life and performance efficiency. It promises 8 hours of talk time, 210 hours of standby time and 7 hours of browsing time.

Lenovo A6000 comes with a 2300mAh and the battery performance was very good on the device. With moderate usage, which includes couple of hours on call, browsing, social networking, taking few photos, listening to music and causal gaming along with 3G, you can get a day of usage easily. Battery capacity is slightly lower than Yureka, the performance is equally good if not better.

Yu Yureka vs Lenovo A6000: Final Verdict

It's difficult to recommend Yureka or A6000. Both have lot of difference. By features and build in quality YU Yureka is the best but A6000 also have good features to compete with Yureka. Display quality and camera quality of A6000 is better than Yureka. It's up to your choice to buy one among them. Both are really worth for money. These mobile phones will change the whole mobile industry which will make the big brands to reduce the cost of their product. That era is coming. Availability of Yu Yureka is difficult due to flash sales in Amazon.in same in the case of Lenovo A6000, which is available in flipkart.com.
